Parathas are a popular flatbreads in the indian subcontinent and are thicker in size. This paratha is stuffed with grated radish and can be eaten as a breakfast or a snack. You can serve this radish paratha with raita, curd or pickle.
Grated radish adds a great flavor and when you eat it, you would not know what is in them. I have already posted mooli paratha recipe few months ago. This is another version of radish paratha that has a subtle flavor of grated radish.
When you make radish paratha, squeeze the juice from it and then make parathas. If not, paratha would either turn a bit soggy or break. You can use the radish juice for kneading the dough.
How to make radish paratha or mooli paratha:
1. Peel the radish and grate it using a grater. Set it aside for 10 minutes. Radish will leave water (below picture 2). Just squeeze the radish and collect its water and set aside.2. In a mixing bowl, add whole wheat flour, grated radish, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.3. Add the reserved radish water little by little and form a soft pliable dough. Make equal sized balls out of the dough.4. Dust the balls with wheat flour, and roll out to thick circles.5. Heat tawa and cook paratha on one side by drizzling few drops of oil or ghee. Once you see golden spots appear, flip it over and cook the other side until you see golden spots. Switch off.Now, radish paratha/mooli paratha is ready! Serve it with pickle, raita or yogurt.
