I am learning to make oats dishes these days. This recipe caught my eye and I was excited to make it, and share it with you. It took less than 20 minutes to pull together.

How to make oats kozhukattai or oats pidi kozhukattai:
1. Heat oil in a pan, and then let the mustard seeds splutter. Then add urad dal, green chillies, curry leaves, and asafoetida. Add water and salt. Bring it to a boil, and then simmer the flame. Add oats.2. Stir well, and then add coconut gratings. Sprinkle 2 tablespoon of water. When the oats is cooked and becomes thick and sticky, switch off. Let it cool down.3.Grease your fingers with oil. When you are able to bear the heat, make balls out of the mixture. Then shape it like pidi kozhukattai/cylindrical shape.4. Place the shaped kozhukattai in the greased idli plates. Steam them for 4 to 5 minutes. If the kozhukattai looks shiny, then they are done.Now, oats kozhukattai is ready! Serve kozhukattai with chutney or you can have it as such.
