Radish or mullangi is very popular in indian and european dishes. Radish has numerous health benefits. They are rich in vitamin C, folic acid, potassium, manganese, copper, magnesium etc. They also have anti-fungal properties. These are just to name a few.
I love podimas dishes. Podimas is nothing but scrambled version of a dish.
I have posted few podimas dishes like vazhaipoo podimas, vazhaikkai podimas and potato podimas. Here is another wonderful combination of grated radish and few spices that we often use to make our side dish or sambar.
During my childhood days, I would not be too happy when my mom makes radish dishes. Only after my wedding, I started liking it. I make mullangi sambar often. If not sambar, then it would be radish paratha.
Mullangi podimas is way too easy to make. You can make this mullangi podimas with different types of radishes: white, red and pink ones. This dish is a winner!!!

How to make mullangi podimas recipe, grated radish stir fry recipe:
1.Grate the radish and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan, and let the mustard seeds splutter. Then add urad and channa dal. Once the dals turn golden brown, add curry leaves.2.Add the chopped onion followed by green chillies.
3.Once onions turn transparent, add grated radish and salt. Stir well.Meantime, grind the roasted gram to a fine powder and set aside.4.Once radish is cooked, simmer the flame and add grated coconut. Cook for a minute and then add a tablespoon of powdered roasted gram. Cook for another minute.5.Add chopped coriander leaves and give a quick stir. Switch off.
