Custard powder snack cake, eggless custard powder cake
I had a packet of custard powder at home and wanted to use it for the past one month. Then I surfed for some custard powder recipes and finally came out with this simple custard powder cake. It came out very well. My custard powder had mango flavor but you can use any flavor you wish. The cake was super moist, tasty and flavorful. If you want, you could also add dry fruits. Beginners can easily try out this recipe at home with even little confidence. Trust me, You will get it right!
How to make custard powder snack cake:
1. Preheat oven to 180 deg C for 10mins or 350 F. Sieve maida, custard powder and baking powder. Now add milk in a bowl and then add butter. Mix well to avoid lumps.2. Next add vanilla essence and mix again again. Then add the sugar and stir well till it completely dissolves. You can also use powdered sugar so that it dissolves quickly.3. Add the all purpose flour/maida mixture to the milk butter mixture little by little and stir well.4. Mix until a creamy batter is formed. Grease a baking pan with a butter paper and pour the batter into it. You can also grease using little butter and then dust with a tablespoon of maida. Bake the cake for 35-40mins. Test by inserting a toothpick in the middle of the cake before you switch off. Cool it completely for at least 20mins then cut into pieces.Now, custard powder cake is ready!
- Instead of normal sugar, you can use demerara sugar too. Demerara sugar will make your cake little brown.
- As the name says snack cake, the sweetness is slightly lower than the usual cakes. So you can increase the sugar to one cup if you prefer a sweeter cake.
