I made these cookies for Shreeya’s field trip to the firestation. She wanted to offer some treats to the firefighters as a token of her love for the service they do to the nation. While I was half way through the recipe, my oven stopped working. Blah!!!! I sought the help of my neighbor and she helped me baking these cookies. Nevertheless, the cookies tasted so good. I promised her that I will post the recipe this week.

In my recipe, I have used both white and dark brown sugar. The dark brown sugar gives a rich aroma and a depth of flavor to these yummies. Also, it keeps the cookies soft, even the next day.

How to make chocolate chip cookies
1.Preheat oven to 375 F.In a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, baking soda and salt. If you wish, sieve the flour once. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Give a quick mix. In a large mixing bowl, add egg, butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.2. Combine the egg mixture well. Stir in the flour mixture little by little and mix well.3. The dough will become stiff. Now, grease the baking pan using butter or place the parchment paper. Using a rounded tablespoon or an ice cream scoop, drop dough about 2 inches apart onto the cookie sheet. I used a very big spoon, so my cookies are larger in size.4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges turn light brown. Centers will be soft. Let the cookies cool down completely on a wire rack. When the cookies cool down completely, store it in an airtight container.Now, chocolate chip cookies are ready!
