Chana dal sundal, Kadalai paruppu sundal
My mom makes this chana dal sundal at least once a week for an evening snack. I like kadalai paruppu sundal because it is very soft when you bite it. Also, the combination of curry leaves, coconut and chana dal gives a very good flavor.
I have seen many of my friends making chana dal sundal during one of the Navratri days. It is very easy and simple to make. Hope you all like this chana dal sundal/kadalai paruppu sundal recipe.
How to make chana dal sundal or kadalai paruppu sundal:
1. Soak chana dal in water for about one hour and drain it. Boil three cups of water, add salt and cook chana dal until it turns soft. This might take about five minutes.
2.Chana dal should turn soft but not mushy so make sure you don’t overcook it. Drain the water.
3. In a pan, heat oil. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Then add red chillies, hing and curry leaves. Once curry leaves sizzle, add the cooked chana dal and stir well.
4. Then add the grated coconut and give a quick stir. Switch off.
Now, chana dal sundal is ready! Serve hot.
