Aloo gobi korma recipe, Cauliflower potato kurma
I love korma recipes so much and especially if it has the combination of potatoes and cauliflower.
My mom makes a variety of kurma. When my mom visited us few months back, she taught me this aloo gobi korma recipe. It was an instant hit in the family, and Gj asked me to learn the korma recipe from her.
Aloo gobi korma goes well with rotis and parathas. This korma is very similar to vegetable korma that I posted few month back. Hope you all like this aloo gobi korma.
How to make aloo gobi korma or potato cauliflower kurma:
1. Heat oil in a pan, and then let the cumin seeds sizzle. Then add minced ginger followed by chopped onions and salt. Saute the onions until golden brown.
2.Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, and coriander powder. Saute for about a minute or so.Now add the cubed potatoes and cauliflower florets.Stir well.3. Then add the tomatoes and green chillies. Cook for about five minutes.4. Then add 3/4 cup of water and stir well. Cover with a lid and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until cauliflower florets become tender and potatoes are cooked. Meanwhile, grind the coconut, poppy seeds ad cashew nuts along with little water to a smooth paste. (I did not have cashews so I used almonds).
5. Now simmer the flame and add the coconut paste. Stir well and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
6.Finally, add the garam masala powder, mint and coriander leaves. Give a quick stir and switch off.
Now, aloo gobi korma is ready! Serve with pulao, biryani, rotis, appam, idiyappam and idli.
